I coached athletics at Kingston Heritage Swimming Club from 1990 to 2018. Most of my players were between 8 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I make terrible puns.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Coach Venesha
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Venesha: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
