I've coached tennis at Los Angeles Silverlake Athletic Club since 2012. Most of my players were between 11 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Coach Valentina: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
