Coach Toru
Youth rugby coach and mentor
- 🇯🇵 Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan
- Shinjuku Swimming Club
- Since 1986
- Japanese
For 40 years I've run the rugby program at Shinjuku Swimming Club in Shinjuku. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Coach Toru
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach Toru: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
