I coached chess at Parkside Boxing Gym from 1989 to 2014. Most of my players were between 8 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
If you remember me, I'd love to hear from you.
What gifts mean to Coach Sandra: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
