Coach Rubén
Boxing and fitness coach, Greensboro
- 🇺🇸 Greensboro, North Carolina, United States
- Greensboro Athletic Club
- Since 2011
- English
I've coached boxing at Greensboro Athletic Club since 2011. Most of my players were between 10 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Coach Rubén
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Rubén: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
