I coached boxing at Sakura Boxing Gym from 2001 to 2016. Most of my players were between 8 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Coach Raúl: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
