I coached basketball at Manila Football Club from 1978 to 1995. Most of my players were between 12 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
