Coach Rafael
Youth table tennis coach and mentor
- 🇵🇭 Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines
- Makati Boxing Gym
- 1991 to 2017
- English, Filipino
I coached table tennis at Makati Boxing Gym from 1991 to 2017. Most of my players were between 10 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Coach Rafael
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

I still think about the day the fire alarm went off during the exam. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Barcelona.
