I coached martial arts at Cairo Sunrise Swimming Club from 2011 to 2019. Most of my players were between 10 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never turned anyone away.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
