Coach Nakato
Youth chess coach and mentor
- 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Dar es Salaam Redwood Community Club
- Since 1981
- English
For 45 years I've run the chess program at Dar es Salaam Redwood Community Club in Dar es Salaam. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I walk the dog by the river.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Coach Nakato: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
