Coach Mihret
Youth football coach and mentor
- 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Addis Ababa Lakeview Youth Club
- 2008 to 2021
- English, Amharic
For 13 years I ran the football program at Addis Ababa Lakeview Youth Club in Addis Ababa. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Coach Mihret
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach Mihret: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
