Coach Mercy

Gymnastics coach, Kinondoni Sports Club

  • 🇹🇿 Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • 1984 to 2008
  • English, Swahili
I coached gymnastics at Kinondoni Sports Club from 1984 to 2008. Most of my players were between 9 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never once raised my voice. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

More about Coach Mercy

Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
