I coached badminton at Charlotte Athletic Club from 1990 to 2012. Most of my players were between 12 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
More about Coach Melanie
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Melanie: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
