Coach Marta
Youth hockey coach and mentor
- 🇪🇹 Bahir Dar, Amhara, Ethiopia
- Bahir Dar Community Club
- Since 2001
- English, Amharic, Spanish
For 25 years I've run the hockey program at Bahir Dar Community Club in Bahir Dar. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
What gifts mean to Coach Marta: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
