I coached cricket at Lucknow Stonebridge Sports Club from 1980 to 2013. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
