I'm a chess coach. I never went pro, but I get to see 1,150 kids fall in love with the game.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learn every name in the first week.
More about Coach Madushan
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Madushan: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
