I coached rowing at Cleveland Andes Boxing Gym from 1991 to 2012. Most of my players were between 11 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
More about Coach Mackenzie
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Mackenzie: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
