Coach Luiz
Coached boxing for 36 years in Recife
- 🇧🇷 Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil
- Recife Gateway Athletic Club
- Since 1990
- Portuguese
I've coached boxing at Recife Gateway Athletic Club since 1990. Most of my players were between 10 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
More about Coach Luiz
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach Luiz: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
