I've coached softball at Maple Ridge Youth Club since 1990. Most of my players were between 11 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I make terrible puns.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
