For 13 years I've run the netball program at Birmingham Hope Boxing Gym in Birmingham. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

If you played for me, you probably remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.

What gifts mean to Coach Lena: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
