Coach Lawrence
Chess coach, Sacramento Phoenix Sports Club
- 🇺🇸 Sacramento, California, United States
- Sacramento Phoenix Sports Club
- 2012 to 2025
- English
I coached chess at Sacramento Phoenix Sports Club from 2012 to 2025. Most of my players were between 12 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never once raised my voice.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Coach Lawrence: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
