Coach Kiptoo
Youth basketball coach and mentor
- 🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Embakasi Elmwood Swimming Club
- 1990 to 1999
- English, Swahili
For nine years I ran the basketball program at Embakasi Elmwood Swimming Club in Embakasi. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
More about Coach Kiptoo
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Coach Kiptoo: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
