For 26 years I ran the cycling program at Cairo Jacaranda Swimming Club in Cairo. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Coach Karim: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
