Coach José
Youth chess coach and mentor
- 🇧🇷 Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil
- Ribeirão Preto Athletic Club
- 1998 to 2008
- Portuguese
For ten years I ran the chess program at Ribeirão Preto Athletic Club in Ribeirão Preto. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never turned anyone away.
More about Coach José
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach José: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.
