Coach Jan
Youth chess coach and mentor
- 🇳🇱 Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
- Cedar Grove Athletic Club
- 1984 to 2016
- English, Dutch
For 32 years I ran the chess program at Cedar Grove Athletic Club in Amsterdam. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.

What gifts mean to Coach Jan: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
