Coach Jacob
Youth rowing coach and mentor
- 🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States

- 1981 to 2010
- English
I coached rowing at San Diego Athletic Club from 1981 to 2010. Most of my players were between 8 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
What gifts mean to Coach Jacob: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
