I coached volleyball at Holy Cross Youth Club from 1982 to 2003. Most of my players were between 10 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
