Coached chess for 15 years in Salem
- 🇺🇸 Salem, Oregon, United States
- Salem Youth Club
- 1998 to 2013

I coached chess at Salem Youth Club from 1998 to 2013. Most of my players were between 9 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never turned anyone away.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
