I coached tennis at San Fernando Boxing Gym from 1997 to 2012. Most of my players were between 11 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I fix old bicycles.
What gifts mean to Coach Imelda: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
