I coached chess at Birmingham Andes Youth Club from 1980 to 2007. Most of my players were between 12 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
What gifts mean to Coach Ian: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.

I still think about the time the class pet escaped. Best summer of my life. Greetings from San Cristóbal de las Casas.
