For eight years I ran the gymnastics program at San Diego Athletic Club in San Diego. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
