For 15 years I've run the swimming program at Grand Rapids Community Club in Grand Rapids. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Coach Howard: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
