Coach Hira
Youth athletics coach and mentor
- 🇵🇰 Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan
- 1990 to 2016
- English, Urdu
For 26 years I ran the athletics program at Rawalpindi Youth Club in Rawalpindi. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
More about Coach Hira
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Hira: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
