I coached swimming at Auckland Atlas Football Club from 1992 to 2005. Most of my players were between 9 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
What gifts mean to Coach Hinemoa: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.
