Coach Gerhard
Rowing and fitness coach, Soweto
- 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
- Bamboo Sports Club
- 1984 to 2009
- English
I coached rowing at Bamboo Sports Club from 1984 to 2009. Most of my players were between 9 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I answered every email, even at midnight.
More about Coach Gerhard
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach Gerhard: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
