Coach Gabriel

Youth chess coach and mentor

  • Juiz de Fora Rosewood Boxing Gym
  • Since 1985

I'm a chess coach. I never went pro, but I get to see 740 kids fall in love with the game. Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Coach Gabriel: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
