Coach Ella
Chess and fitness coach, Leeds
- 🇬🇧 Leeds, England, United Kingdom
- Leeds Riverside Athletic Club
- 1978 to 1991
- English
For 13 years I ran the chess program at Leeds Riverside Athletic Club in Leeds. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Coach Ella: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
