I coached chess at Essen Victory Boxing Gym from 1986 to 1997. Most of my players were between 11 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Coach Dieter
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Coach Dieter: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
