Coach Declan
Basketball coach, Manukau Sports Club
- 🇳🇿 Manukau, Auckland, New Zealand
- 1985 to 1996
- English
I coached basketball at Manukau Sports Club from 1985 to 1996. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.

What gifts mean to Coach Declan: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
