Coach Brian
Youth chess coach and mentor
- 🇨🇦 Calgary, Alberta, Canada
- Calgary Andes Athletic Club
- Since 1988
- English, French
I'm a chess coach. I never went pro, but I get to see 2,240 kids fall in love with the game.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Coach Brian: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
