Coach Bakari
Netball and fitness coach, Embakasi
- 🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Embakasi Youth Club
- Since 1984
- English, Swahili
For 42 years I've run the netball program at Embakasi Youth Club in Embakasi. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Coach Bakari
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Coach Bakari: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.

you coached me in 2023. I still hear your voice on the sideline. Greetings from Hawassa.
