Coach Athumani
Youth boxing coach and mentor
- 🇰🇪 Thika, Kiambu, Kenya
- Thika Community Club
- Since 1992
- English, Swahili
For 34 years I've run the boxing program at Thika Community Club in Thika. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stay late on Thursdays for anyone who needs it.
More about Coach Athumani
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Athumani: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

You coached me in 2021. I still hear your voice on the sideline. Greetings from Yekaterinburg.
