I've coached rowing at Minneapolis Boxing Gym since 1996. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
More about Coach Asher
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Coach Asher: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
