Coach Achieng

Youth cross country coach and mentor

  • 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Dar es Salaam Sports Club
  • 1979 to 1991
  • English, Spanish
For twelve years I ran the cross country program at Dar es Salaam Sports Club in Dar es Salaam. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
