I coached cross country at San Francisco Silverlake Athletic Club from 1984 to 1994. Most of my players were between 9 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.

I still think about the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Ubud.
