I've spent 32 years as a lecturer in modern history at Bayview Institute of Technology in San Diego. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
Former students now work as a bus driver and in a dozen other fields. It is the best part of this job.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
