I've been a nurse for 23 years, most of them in rehabilitation at Nagoya Children's Hospital in Nagoya. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I run most mornings.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
