Chidi Garba Mba
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria
- Lagos Works
- Since 1978
- English
I've worked in blacksmithing since 1978. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 2,020 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I always make time for a proper cup of tea.
More about Chidi
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Chidi: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
