For eight years I was the home economics teacher at Birmingham Middle School. I taught mixed-ability classes and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.

What gifts mean to Chhaya: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
