I've been a nurse for 33 years, most of them in oncology at Eastgate Regional Medical Center in Negombo. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
I try to remember everyone's name. Small things matter when someone is frightened.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
